Enjoy life inside and out

Part of what makes Winston-Salem an outstanding place to live is the abundance of indoor and outdoor activities in the community. Winston-Salem is North Carolina’s “City of Arts and Innovation” and is home to the nation’s first Arts Council. Winston-Salem is located an hour from the Blue Ridge Mountains featuring some of the East Coast’s best snow skiing and approximately 3.5 hours from the North Carolina beaches.

For those who prefer to stay local, the area is home to some of the best public and private golf courses in the Southeast, including Tanglewood Park – a county-owned park featuring two 18-hole courses. The Championship Course hosted the 1974 PGA Championship and was a longtime stop on the PGA Senior Tour.

In addition to golf, over 5,000 acres of park land are located in Forsyth County, offering more outdoor activities such as tennis, swimming, hiking, cycling and fishing. Or, take a casual stroll through the Old Salem Historic District (don’t forget to stop by the bakery).

Whatever your guilty pleasure is, you’re sure to find it here in Winston-Salem.
