Summer in Winston-Salem

No matter how old or young you may be, Winston-Salem is the perfect city to spend time in during the summer.  Not only does it provide the perfect balance between great outdoor fun and a bustling, energetic downtown, but Winston-Salem has numerous groups that work every day to ensure there’s always something to do.

One of the premier organizations for populating Winston-Salem evenings is the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership.  All summer long, throughout some of the favorite public downtown spots like 4th Street and Trade Street, the Partnership puts on fantastic and free concerts.

Whether your specialty is grooving to jazz or embracing Winston-Salem’s southern roots with down-home country and bluegrass, events like Alive After 5, Downtown Jazz, and Summer on Trade feature those and everything in between.

When you think of summer events, there’s nothing more quintessential than spending a day (or night) at a baseball game.  This year Winston-Salem has the treat of not only having our beloved minor-league team to watch, but also a brand new stadium (BB&T Field) that is beautiful, fan-friendly, and state-of-the-art. The team features promotions multiple times a week; however, no matter what night you go, you’re going to be in for a treat.  Not only are the games great to watch, but the team and organization go out of their way to create a family-friendly environment with events and promotions that are just plain fun for fans of any age.  The folks in their PR department were nice enough to provide us with some tremendous shots of the stadium and the fanfare that goes on.

Whereas downtown Winston-Salem is restless and bustling, Forsyth County offers it’s antithesis in the wide array of beautiful and peaceful outdoor environments.  Whether you want to play 18 holes of golf at Tanglewood Park, one of the best public golf courses in NC, or take a day on Salem Lake, there’s always a place to get away from the city.  Additionally, Tanglewood Park periodically hosts events throughout the year including it’s Steeplechase, Wine Festival, March of Dimes Chili Championship, and the upcoming Great North Carolina Beer Festival.

We at Winston-Salem Business Inc. hope you’ve enjoyed our photo tour of summer in Winston-Salem, although it’s not the same as experiencing it first-hand.  We’d like to think you now know a little more about the tremendous community and environment that embellishes our everyday lives here in Winston-Salem.
