Lawsuit Challenging Dell
Incentives Tossed Out
Working together,
local and state governments provided an attractive
incentives package that helped motivate Texas-based Dell
to build a computer-production factory in Forsyth County
in 2005. A lawsuit was filed shortly thereafter
challenging the legality of the incentives.
Last
fall, the N.C. Court of Appeals upheld the legality of
the incentives, saying the matter had been decided in
North Carolina's courts more than 10 years ago. On April
10, the N.C. Supreme Court dismissed the
appeal.
